She married pianist Mr. Takahiro Seki and came to Japan. She is currently a lecturer at the Tokyo College of Music. She taught on NHK’s “Italian Language Course” (2009). She was awarded the title of honorary citizen by the city of Finale Ligure in Italy for spreading Italian culture (2014). She is currently expanding her Italian-themed courses all over Japan.
On Saturday, March 5th, we welcomed Ms. Mariangela, who talked about the “Italian Technique to Happiness”. Ms. Mariangela grew up in a home where both her parents and her grandfather were educators, and so she talked about the essence of the education they cultivated.
① Not teaching too much ② Praising ③ Taking responsibility were a few of the points she talked about while relating back to her own experiences. Participants commented, “I took it as a very profound life lesson. It became a guide for how to live life”. There were many favorable comments that were similar. Although the event had few participants because it took place during a time when the number of infections still hadn’t decreased, the smaller gathering contributed to a cozy feel that participants said they were happy with. Ms. Mariangela and her husband, Mr. Takahiro Seki, have co-authored two books that have enjoyed steady sales: “Brillante na Hibi (Translation: Brillante Days)” and “Kore de Nattoku! Yoku Wakaru Ongakuyōgo no Hanashi (Translation: “I can agree with this! A discussion of familiar musical terms”).
